This is the ONE item you must have which MAY NOT be available locally so we list in the optional areas. Generally most home improvement stores have 4-conductor wire or CAT5 cable but these don't have a good shield - YOU NEED Shielded 4-conductor wire! Absolutely! The big contractor jobbers DO have this - Gray Bar and Granger for example.

Quality Compressor/Limiter - Really a must but I have several stations on air without one due to funds. (We've been enhancing one station at a time) My advice is to search ebay for "limiter compressor" and look for ones in near new condition. I'm testing a few now to give better advice but the Behringer 1600MDX is slightly better than OK but easy to find. This keeps your top end in check while balancing low and midrange tones. Obviously you get what you pay for with these.
Both the Inovonics and compressors can be used alone but best together.
I found the heavy copper grounding wire at the best price from Graybar if you can set up an account. I use #8 solid bare buried in the ground to connect grounds together.

| From Keith - the designer: We have tried to engineer a product that will do the best job possible for you, not just a vehicle to make money. We have been there, wanting a decent transmitting solution, when nothing was on the market. That is why RangeMaster was designed. Here are some examples: Quality page Link We will be adding more hints and help files as we go but for now call us for help. There are many things one can do to enhance the signal starting with the grounding and soil conditions. Federal Communications Commission allows the operation of type accepted equipment on the AM band with .1 Watt power. One tenth of a Watt doesn't sound like much but a few high performance transmitters (we believe ours is the best) on the market using high tech components can squeeze amazing range out of the allowed .1 Watt. With a good installation you can achieve up to 1-2 miles radius range and more with our unit. All you need is a good place to put one Generally we designed the product, to be a device we would want to use. Parts are way over rated. For example all the capacitors are the 105 degree C type instead of the 85 degree C type the others use. The unit is ready for a long life in the hot desert sun, or in the arctic. Don't wind up with junk or something that won't do the job you need, trying to save a few dollars. Ours is well worth the small extra cost. I have one of the other competition units installed too and it only covers 2 blocks on a good day. An expensive mistake and the audio is very difficult to control. Ask me about it if you want.
